Brook Shields was born in New York City in 1965.
In 1978, at the age of 12 she got her first role in a risky and controversial at that time movie Pretty Baby, when she was cast as a child prostitute.
Blue Lagoon in 1980 was the following movie Brook Shields starred in that has proven to be another hit.
Brooke Shields suffered a painful transition from a child actor to an adult one, but undoubtedly her later achievements were more profound by the earlier trials she made as a child.
Brook Shields has never stopped working, whether it be a Bob Hope Christmas special, or her own sitcom "Suddenly Susan" (1996), or as an author.
For those who think Brook Shields is just a pretty face, know that she also managed to graduate from Princeton University.
Her career was marked by a number of awards, most notably The People's Choice award for 1981 through 1984 in the category of Favorite Young Performer.
In 1997, she was honored again with The People's Choice award for Favorite Female Performer in a New Television Series in 1997 for her work in "Suddenly Susan" (1996).
In 1997, Brook Shield抯 family status was changed once she said 搚es?to a tennis player Andre Agassi.
Two years later they were divorced leaving Brook broken hearted and crushed.
Years later, in 2002, she got married for the second time to Chris Henchy and was very sincere about their fertility treatments.
Finally, she became pregnant with their daughter Rowan, born in 2003.
